FOCUS Environment 2008 Terms and Conditions
The promoter of the Competition is Chevron Australia Pty Ltd of 250 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA 6000 (“Chevron Australia”).
The competition is open to any student studying in Western Australia in years 4 to 12.
All photographs must be taken in Western Australia.
Children of employees of Chevron Australia and companies associated with the Competition including their immediate families (including natural or adopted children and whether or not they live in the same household as the employee), are ineligible to enter the Competition.
Entry in the competition is free of charge.
Photograph and caption must be entrant’s own work.
Photographs may be colour, sepia or black and white.
Digital photographs must be a minimum resolution of 300dpi.
Photo submissions must have permission from all people appearing in the photo before a photo can be submitted.
Each student may enter a maximum of two photos in each of the three subject categories: People and the Environment, Nature’s Moods and Plant and Animal Habitats.
Each photograph must be accompanied by a title and a caption of up to 25 words addressing the subject category. This caption must be written by the photographer.
Chevron Australia reserves the right to edit captions that are over 25 words or that have grammatical or spelling errors.
Entry to the Competition opens at noon (WST) on 11 February 2008 and closes at 4.00pm (WST) on 11 August 2008.
Entry to the Competition is by registering and uploading a photograph taken by the entrant in Western Australia at

in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the directions contained on the website at

Mailed entries will not be accepted in 2008.
Winners will be notified by mail.
Up to nine first prize winners will be selected from the entries received and win $200 each. Their school will receive $1,500.
First prize winners who live outside of the Perth metropolitan area will receive financial assistance to travel to Perth for the awards presentation on Tuesday 13 November 2007.
Up to nine second prize winners will receive $150 each. Their school will receive $1,000.
Highly commended students will receive $50.
In the event of the winning student being home schooled the school prize will not be awarded.
Chevron Australia’s decision is final (including in relation to its attempts to contact any winner) and no correspondence will be entered into, including in the event of a dispute.
The judges reserve the right not to make an award in a given category.
All photographs entered in the Competition become the property of Chevron Australia. By submitting a photograph, each student grants Chevron Australia and its related bodies corporate a royalty free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use and reproduce the photograph for any purpose.
Personal details collected on this entry form will only be used for the purposes of this competition and related promotion.
