What is the FOCUS Environment photographic and caption competition?

The FOCUS Environment environmental photographic and caption competition is your chance to upload photos and captions that best show Western Australia’s unique natural environment for your chance to win prizes for yourself and your school.

Who can enter?

Entrants must be Western Australia students in years four to 12. Photo submissions must have permission from all people appearing in the photo before a photo can be submitted.

What are the prizes?

First and second prize winners win cash for themselves and their schools – $200 for first prize winners in each category and $1,500 for their schools.

Second prize winners receive $120 each and $1,000 for their schools.

Highly commended students will win $50 each.

Every prize winner, first, second place and commended student will be invited to attend the Awards Presentation on the evening of Tuesday 16 September.

How many times can I enter?

You can enter up to two times in each subject category.

When can I enter FOCUS Environment?

The FOCUS Environment environmental photographic and caption competition will open at noon on 11 February. Entries close on 11 August 2008.

When will winners be announced?

Winners will be notified by mail by 25 August 2008.

How do people enter?

People can enter FOCUS Environment by submitting a photo image into the uploader, completing their details, agreeing to the terms and conditions and clicking the submit button. Entry into the competition is FREE and only available online at www.chevronaustralia.com.au/focusenvironment.

How do I know that you have received my entry?

If you have provided an email address, you will receive an email acknowledging that we have received your entry.

I’m a country student, what if I win?

Assistance with travel and accommodation arrangements and costs will be offered to first prize winners from regional areas and one accompanying adult so they can attend the Awards Presentation on 16 September.

Regrettably, we cannot contribute to such costs for second prize winning students or students with commended entries. They will, however, be made very welcome at the Awards Presentation, should they wish to attend.

I home school my children, can they still enter?

Yes they can. However, you will be ineligible for the school prize should they win.
